Read the hill before you climb it.

Every token is a hill. Its biggest holders stand on the slope — the higher and larger, the bigger the bag. Paste a mint to see who could sell into you.

Showing a sample hill. Live scouting starts with the top trending coin.

01 — Reading the hill

Five marks, one picture.

  1. Height is the bag

Position on the slope follows the holder's balance on a log scale, so one whale cannot flatten everyone else.

  2. Size is the share

Each climber's body scales with the square root of its share of supply. Big bodies are the ones that move price.

  3. The summit is the king

The largest wallet that is not a pool or program holds the flag. Hillwatch tracks every change of crown you witness.

  4. The pool sits at the foot

Accounts owned by programs — liquidity pools, bonding curves, vaults — are not people. They gather in the pool below the hill.

  5. Rings mean it moved

When you re-poll, any climber whose bag changed wears an ochre ring, and the full diff lands in Moves.

02 — Summit

King of the hill

The biggest wallet on the hill, how far ahead it stands, and the ten who could take the flag.

Whale moves between looks

Each poll is compared with the previous one — or with the snapshot from your last visit. Entries, exits, adds and trims, in tokens and in share of supply.

Interlude — weather on the hill

What one sell does to a hill

  1. Calm

The king stands at the summit with 7.2% of supply. The pool at the foot holds 21%.

  2. The king sells half

36M tokens roll down into the pool. A smaller bag stands lower, so the king steps off the summit.

  3. The price slides

The pool holds more tokens for the same SOL. On a constant-product pool that is about 27% off the price, for every bag on the hill.

  4. A new king

The runner-up now holds the biggest bag and takes the flag. Hillwatch logs every change of crown you witness.

04 — Pressure

Who could sell into you

Pick a climber and a fraction of its bag. Hillwatch runs the sale through a constant-product model of the coin's deepest pool, using reserves reported live by DexScreener.

The model needs a scouted coin with a pool.

05 — Footing

How steady is this hill?

Concentration measures over the twenty largest accounts the network reports, computed in your browser. The grade is a plain formula, shown in full beneath it.

08 — Field notes

How the hill is drawn

a

Supply and the twenty largest

Two read-only Solana RPC calls, getTokenSupply and getTokenLargestAccounts, sent through this site's own /api/rpc. The network returns at most twenty token accounts, so the hill shows the top of the mountain, not every holder.

b

From accounts to people

A third call, getMultipleAccounts, reads each token account's owner. Accounts with the same owner are merged into one climber.

c

Pools and programs

A fourth call checks who owns each owner. If it is a program rather than the system wallet program, or it has no account at all, or it is the DexScreener pair address, it goes to the pool at the foot. This is a heuristic: a few wallets can be misfiled.

d

Prices and pools

Price, market cap and pool reserves come from DexScreener's deepest pair for the token. Holder counts come from Jupiter's token index when it lists the coin.

e

What we do not know

Entry prices, so nobody here is shown as "up" or "underwater". We draw bags, not profits, and we never guess.

f

What we keep

The last snapshot of each coin, your scouting log and witnessed reigns sit in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a Hillwatch server.

09 — FAQ

Questions from the trail

Why only twenty holders?

Solana's getTokenLargestAccounts returns the twenty largest token accounts. For concentration risk those are the ones that matter most; a full holder census needs an indexer, which this site does not use.

The scout failed with a rate-limit message. What now?

Largest-account lookups are heavy for public RPC nodes. Wait a minute and press Scout again; Hillwatch already retries twice with a pause. The sample hill stays visible meanwhile and is labelled as a sample.

Is the king always a person?

No. It is the largest account whose owner looks like a normal wallet. It could be an exchange, a team multisig or a market maker. Click it to open the address on Solscan and judge for yourself.

How accurate is the pressure model?

It assumes a single constant-product pool with the reserves DexScreener reports, and the fee you choose. Real sells route across several pools and bonding curves behave differently, so read it as an order of magnitude, not a quote.

What does the grade mean?

It is computed from the share held by the ten largest wallets and the share held by the king, excluding pools. The formula is printed under the grade. It says nothing about the project's quality.

Do I need to connect a wallet?

No. Hillwatch never asks for a wallet, signature or key. It only reads public data.

Can I share a hill?

Save the poster from the token card for a PNG of the current hill, or copy the page link after scouting — it carries the mint in the address fragment.

Is Hillwatch a token?

If a Hillwatch coin is ever published, its contract address will appear in the header and footer of this page. Until then there is none.
